The MCS Compliance Shield is a service plan for backflow prevention assembly testing and cross-connection compliance administration. It is not an insurance policy, warranty contract, or extended service contract. No coverage is provided for property damage, loss, contamination, fines, or third-party claims.
"Free diagnostic visits" means MCS will travel to your property and perform a no-cost visual and functional assessment when you suspect an issue. The $100 diagnostic labor fee is waived. Parts, repair labor, and work beyond the assessment are quoted separately. Diagnostic visits are scheduled during normal business hours — not emergency dispatch.
Iowa Administrative Code 567 Chapter 43 places responsibility for maintaining the premises water system on the property owner. MCS performs testing and administrative tasks on the owner's behalf, but the legal duty to maintain compliance remains with the property owner at all times. Plan enrollment does not transfer regulatory liability to MCS.
Plans run for 12 months from enrollment and auto-renew unless canceled. Cancel anytime with 30 days written notice. You remain covered through the end of the current term if you cancel mid-term. No refund on unused portion of annual plans. Pricing changes are notified 60 days before renewal.
Standard service area is Scott County, Iowa and the immediately adjacent Iowa Quad Cities region. Fire-line backflow assemblies may be subject to state regulatory restrictions and are evaluated case-by-case. Plans transfer with the property if sold, at the new owner's option, for the remainder of the term.
MCS reserves the right to modify plan terms, pricing, or included benefits with 60 days written notice to enrolled members prior to the next renewal date.
